As a trusted advisor to the CFO, you will leverage your technical expertise and analytical skills to provide actionable insights, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements.The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the preparation of monthly financial reports, analysing variances, managing audit processes, and maintaining the integrity of financial data.
You will support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making through financial modelling and scenario analysis.This is a highly dynamic role that requires advanced technical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to lead and develop a team.

The ideal candidate will be motivated to step into a Financial Controller role, bringing advanced technical skills and a passion for process improvement.Additional Skills And Attributes That Are Desirable IncludeProfessional certification (CA, CPA, or equivalent)5+ years of experience, with a strong focus on statutory reporting and audit processes.Advanced Excel skills, with Power Query and SQL as a bonusStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication, leadership & project management skillsExperience in financial reporting and compliance with AASB/IFRS standards.
Expertise in IFRS 16 is a bonus.A proactive attitude and a focus on continuous improvementKey ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:Financial ControlOversee monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with group standards.Analyse variances and provide detailed insights and recommendations to leadership.Oversee reconciliation processes, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data.Audit & ComplianceManage external audit processes, ensuring they are completed smoothly and efficiently.Prepare general-purpose financial statements in compliance with AASB standards.Budgeting & ForecastingAssist in refining and updating budgets and forecasts.Provide financial modelling to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.Process Improvements & Technology ImplementationIdentify opportunities to streamline finance processes and enhance efficiency.Lead the implementation of technologies and automated tools to assist with efficiency, controls and reporting.Train and support team members in adopting new systems and processes.Collaboration & Team LeadershipAct as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and working towards achieving key objectives.Mentor, coach, and develop the finance team, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.Work Health & SafetyConduct and maintain safe work practices by ensuring WHS standards are adhered to at all times.Ensure compliance with WHS standards.
