What You'll DoJoin our Horticulture Branch as Team Leader Landscape Systems and drive the management and development of the Landscape Systems team to support our mission at RBGV.
In this role, you'll lead team operations to achieve high standards in environmental systems, horticulture, and public safety.
Key responsibilities include:
Training and mentoring team membersEnsuring best practices in environmental managementOverseeing vital systems like lake and wetland maintenance, irrigation, and biosecurityCollaborating with other branchesContributing to strategic planning initiativesManaging resourcesEnsuring regulatory complianceFostering a positive, customer-focused cultureThis role also offers the opportunity to enhance RBGV's reputation through public engagement, professional communication, and partnerships with educational institutions.

What You'll BringThe successful candidate will ideally have a background in Environmental Sciences or related fields, preferably with extensive hands-on experience in botanical horticulture management.
This role involves leading and motivating a team of staff, volunteers, and students, managing contractors, and overseeing complex landscape systems operations.
Key qualifications include:
Expertise in water conservationEcological management of lake and wetland systemsEnvironmental monitoringRisk managementStrong planning, budgeting, and communication skillsAbility to manage competing priorities effectivelyAdept at strategic thinkingInitiative to work both independently and collaborativelyA Victorian driver's license is required, and flexibility for occasional weekend or after-hours work is expected.
