About the Role
The purpose of this role, which reports to the Service Manager CPSP/CNCP, is to directly lead a team of Mental Health Clinicians and support staff in delivering CPSP, implementing the business unit plan, participating in case conferencing, monitoring and reporting program data and performance and engaging with the external evaluators.
The Mental Health Clinical Care Coordination (MHCCC) stream of CPSP provides for dual-care clinical mental health intervention for children aged 7-17 years, designed to support and treat mental illness or those at risk of severe/complex mental illness and build psychological and functional capacity, assisting individuals and their families.
The Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program (CPSP) is also delivered alongside the MHCCC Program.
CPSP provides non-clinical community-based mental health support to children 7 – 17 years with severe mental illness and reduced psychosocial functional capacity who are not eligible for the NDIS.
It does this by providing client-centred but family focused outreach interventions which are; age appropriate, focused on emotional resilience and skill building, and respond to both the mental illness and related psychosocial impairments.
About the Accoras Team
Accoras has delivered mental health and wellbeing services to South-East Queensland children, young people, adults and families for 30 years, working towards our vision of 'good mental health for all'.
We are the lead agency of headspace Inala, and our centre is recognised nationally for our excellence and the outcomes we help young people to achieve.
headspace Inala provides early intervention health and wellbeing support to young people aged 12 to 25 years across four core streams (mental health, physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drug use and work/study).
About you
To succeed in this role you need to be highly motivated to perform and be driven by core values consistent with the Accoras organisation and mission.
You are a leader capable of supporting and directing others who have management responsibilities.
You will have tertiary qualifications or above in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or a related allied health discipline and a minimum of two years' leadership experience, successfully leading a team and providing regular feedback and coaching.
Specifically, you will need to demonstrate the following requirements:
Manage a team of Mental Health Clinicians, and provide support to staff, including monitoring work and caseloads, providing performance feedback, supporting professional development opportunities and ensuring all client support delivered by staff members is appropriate, ethical and in line with best practice and funding guidelines;
Oversee the referrals to the service including triage and assessment of prospective clients; this includes the oversight of safety planning of children and young people and overall risk management.
Support referral out pathways, as required;
Provide guidance and mentorship to the Mental Health Clinicians that ensure they remain up to date with current clinical practices and interventions;
Oversee all day-to-day aspects of service delivery and program implementation, including guidance related to general client work, partnerships, delivery of group work, management of the program waitlist and acting as an escalation point;
Ensure all clients are treated with respect and empathy and that support is provided from a strengths-based perspective, while being aware of and responsive to their individual needs and views (including developmental, cultural and familial);
Co-manage cases with high risk families, and provide relief case management when staff are on leave;
Provide oversight and guidance related to risks to client safety, including domestic and family violence, bullying and suicide / deliberate self-harm, child protection concerns and mandatory reporting (including breaking confidentiality and/or notifying third parties where this is required and appropriate);
Coordinate team meetings, case conferencing and consultation, supervision sessions, field supervision and performance assessments;
Assist with the referral, intake and triage process of clients entering the service, as guided by the Service Manager;
Complete all program reporting requirements and ensure that all other program requirements, client consents, data entry and forms are completed and reviewed in line with program guidelines;
Contribute to program service delivery planning, evaluation and program performance and data reporting to internal and external stakeholders;
Support and model effective, positive and open communication between all staff members;
Ensure quality standards are adhered to and that opportunities to improve or streamline systems and processes are acted upon;
Work collaboratively with the Marketing Department to ensure that all external communications are appropriately branded and adhere to Accoras style guidelines;
Work in a healthy and safe manner and encourage others to do the same, including adherence to all relevant Accoras and program specific policies and processes (particularly those relating to client home visits);
Contribute to a positive workplace culture, championing Accoras values and meeting Accoras key behavioural indicators;
Support the recruitment and retention of employee engagement;
Represent Accoras at stakeholder, partnership and or community events as guided by Service Manager
Other duties as directed by the Service Manager
