John Fawkner Private Hospital is located in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne.
With 186 registered beds, an emergency department, 5 operating theatres, 12 bed Critical Care Complex and a busy day surgery/endoscopy unit, the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community.
The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.

As a CSSD Instrument Technician your responsibilities will include:
Ensure sterilizing practice standards AS/NZ 4187 (2003) and infection control are adhered to at all times Perform duties in all work areas of the department (decontamination, packing, sterilisation and loan instruments) Testing of machinery (washers, sterilisers etc.)
Ability to plan, manage resources and understand the importance of prioritised equipment Inform CSSD Manager/Floor Co-ordinator of any deviation from normal e.g.
spore tests, pre-vac tests, washer tests, ultra-sonic tests etc.
Perform other duties as specified by the CSSD Manager or Peri-Operative Services Manager At least 1 year CSSD Technician experience Certificate III in Sterilizing Services or working towards this certificate Committed to maintaining currency in practical skills and knowledge Able to work well in a team as well as independently Able to prioritize, plan and take the initiative to respond to changes Why Healthscope?
