La Trobe University is seeking a Director for our Health Professions Clinical Education Unit (HPCEU) to lead innovative clinical education initiatives and build strong partnerships in the health sector.About the Role:As the Director of HPCEU, you will play a pivotal role in driving clinical education excellence at La Trobe University.
Working closely with our four health schools—Nursing & Midwifery, Allied Health, Rural Health, and Psychology & Public Health—you will spearhead the growth of clinical placements, interprofessional education, and simulation-based education.
You will also contribute to cutting-edge research and foster collaboration with our Academic and Research Collaborative in Health (ARCH).Key Responsibilities:Provide leadership in Health Professions Clinical Education at La Trobe University.Build and maintain strong partnerships with health and community organizations.Lead innovation in clinical simulation, interprofessional education, and associated research.Develop and implement strategic and operational plans that align with University and school-level goals.Support student growth through the development of new clinical placement opportunities and partnerships.Advocate for the integration of research and education initiatives.Support the professional development of academic staff in clinical education.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to position La Trobe as a leader in health professions education.About You:A PhD or Clinical Doctorate in a health-related field.Extensive experience in clinical education and health profession program development.Proven leadership skills and a track record of managing academic teams.Expertise in simulation-based education and interprofessional education.A strong commitment to educational research and developing innovative teaching practices.Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with health sector partners.Deep knowledge of the Australian university sector and health policies.How to apply:Please submit an online application ONLY and include the following documents:An up-to-date resumePlease address the essential criteria and submit this with your applicationWhy La Trobe?
