We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Coordinator to join our team at YMCA Sandgate Outside School Hours Care (OSHC).
This is a permanent, part-time position.
Your working hours per week will be 34.5 hours during school term and up to 38 hours during vacation care time.
About the roleIn this position, you will assist the Service Coordinator with the day-to-day running of the service and management of a team of Educators.
You will receive support from a dedicated management team, consisting of the Coordinator, Senior Coordinator, Area Coordinator, Regional Manager, and the OSHC Manager.
As the Assistant Coordinator you will assist with:The development of quality programsManaging the day-to-day running of the programsSupporting the Coordinator with staff managementEnsuring compliance with policyUndertaking administrative requirementsWorking collaboratively with families and the school communityAs the Assistant Coordinator you will have:Completed (or actively studying) relevant qualifications in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children Services)Demonstrated experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcareDemonstrated experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC serviceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFirst Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtainCertificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or willingness to obtainNQF knowledge would be advantageousBenefits and rewardsThe successful applicant will be rewarded with a wide range of benefits and rewards including:

Our Sandgate community is both multicultural and linguistically diverse, and we pride ourselves on acceptance of all.
We are licensed for 120 children and offer 'Before and After School Care' and 'Vacation Care' between the hours of 6.30am – 6.00pm Monday to Friday for 50 weeks of the year minus public holidays.
We provide our children with a healthy breakfast to start their day and a menu that reflects our families and children.
The service provides a mix of indoor and outdoor play and learning experiences: sandpit and monkey bar play area, mud kitchen and garden areas, with additional use of the school hall, large undercover art space, under cover basketball court, and large oval.
Our Service philosophy reflects a child-first approach with a primary focus on 'our environment' highlighting the importance of sustainability and 'cultural acceptance and fairness'.
Our educators are dedicated professionals who bring a range of unique skills to share with our families, community, and children.
