Your craft will be Art Direction.As a member of the creative team, you will constantly bring your perspective to create and build on ideas and produce outstanding work. You will be a champion of ideas and rally behind their author no matter where they appear. Your experience will see you seeking out ways to change behaviour, challenge the use of media and push for a new shape of idea - bringing it to life in ways that get people talking. You relish the responsibility to sell the best ideas we offer and will be called on to be a part of creative presentations and build a rapport with clients that leads to better work.You are a confident, directional, conceptual visual thinker with a sense of contemporary visual culture. You have a developed, proven capacity to visualise your thinking to communicate it internally and to clients, and a high level of confidence working with partners and specialists (directors, photographers etc.) to craft the ultimate visual output.Your ambition is to constantly challenge norms, think beyond expectations and produce outstanding creative work.But you also want to have fun along the way, because the best work is joyful, and positivity is the most powerful thing we can bring to our job as creatives.At AKQA, you'll work in an innovative and inclusive culture surrounded by some of the brightest minds in their fields. Located in Sydney or Melbourne, we work in a hybrid WFH model, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday based in the studio each week.We especially welcome applications from established creative copywriter / art director teamsROLE REQUIREMENTSTake ownership of creative, artistic and cultural trends and use them in a manner relevant to the brief, the brand and its users.Generates original, fresh and innovative ideas in partnership with a Copywriter to develop and execute creative ideas that meet the client brief and exceeds expectationsDirect all aspects of art on a brand taking into account the brand and its users and exploits opportunities for high creative outputDevelop and execute ideas across communication channels, formats and multiple touch points ensuring visual consistency, quality, freshness and alignmentWork jointly with Copywriter to ensure correct briefing of production companies, directors and other partners to ensure high quality outcomes.Directs and supervises suppliers and internal studio on all print and production work and takes responsibility with Copywriter for the quality of finished work across mediums.Participation and collaboration with Account teams on new business pitches and strengthening client relationships by attending client meetings as required with a view to increase sales and brand buildingContribute to thought leadership and inspire professional development within the teamQUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS1-2 years' experience in a creative or digital agencyA portfolio of creative work that showcase outstanding campaigns and projects of varying natureAbreast with latest advertising and creative trends, techniques and new developmentsCommercial skills to understand client business and industry contextsStrong presentation and objection handling skillsAKQA is an Equal Opportunities Employer, we believe that diversity is vital to AKQA's ability to provide our clients with the best recommendations and are committed to fostering a varied and inclusive work environment.
