YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE A fixed term fractional role is available for long service leave backfill at 21 hours per fortnight for an experiences Upper GI Medical Specialist.

Providing the highest standard of patient care.
Provide surgical care to appropriate patients.
Provision and maintenance of high level of clinical skills.
Responsible to the Executive Director Cancer Surgery for the development of the Upper GI Service.
Commitment to the values of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and commitment to the Hospital's Code of Ethical Conduct.
Excellent skills and competencies as a clinician and excellent communication skills with patients, their families and one's colleagues.

Providing educational support and development.
Supervise HMOs/Registrars allocated to the Service general team.
Regular attendance at Departmental, Hospital and Specialty educational meetings and audit meetings as required.
Ongoing involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching/training.
Ongoing supervision and training of Junior Medical staff.

Providing educational support and development Participation in annual credentialing program.
Teaching commitment and skills in the areas of undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education.
Ongoing involvement with and encouragement of Research.
Commitment to continuing Education/Self-development and Quality Improvement activities as supported by the Hospital's staff education initiatives.
Key Accountabilities (Contd..) 4.
Timely completion of all administrative requirements.
Completion of clinical records, operating reports and outpatient letters within acceptable time frames.
Timely attendance at scheduled Operating Suite and outpatient sessions.
Timely application and management of approved leave.
Participation in appropriate clinical audit and other hospital activities.
Commitment to Hospital/corporate objectives, develop trusting staff relationships and generate team confidence, direct and control professionals improvements, exercise stewardship over available resources to ensure the efficient and effective use of available funds.

Continuous Quality Improvement Infection Control Adheres to the principles of Infection Control in accordance with Peter Ma policies and procedures Occupational Health & Safety Takes all responsible steps to ensure a safe environment.
Understands emergency procedures and location of emergency equipment.
Privacy and Confidentiality Adheres to the Peter Mac's Code of Conduct policy and privacy policy.
Complies with Infection Control policies and procedures 100% of the time.
Completes incident reports 100% of the time and responds appropriately to OH&S incidents.
Complete Health & Safety training annually.
Staff will complete a yearly online Staff Emergency Safety Awareness training and direct care staff will attend yearly updates on fire practical.
All staff are to demonstrate capability of identifying emergency equipment in place.
Follows established policies and procedures.
Complies with Peter Mac's Code of Conduct policy including Privacy and Confidentiality (Security and Disclose of Patient, Employee and Other Information).
