About the Role:
Reporting to the Group General Counsel and Company Secretary, the
Senior Legal Counsel
is responsible for supporting the General Counsel with legal matters across the Australia New Zealand business including commercial agreements, marketing, privacy, IT and consumer/competition law issues.
This role will be part time, 3 days a week based at our Support Office in Cremorne, VIC.
Key responsibilities will include:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, including sales, distribution, procurement technology and sponsorship contracts;
Advising on marketing and brand campaigns, collaborations and trade promotions;
Working with other functions to support Accent business, including on new policies for internal and public-facing initiatives;
Provide strategic legal advice on data protection, privacy and general commercial matters.
Providing advice on consumer and competition related issues.
Provide training sessions to the business
To be successful you will ideally have the following:
Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent
Demonstrated 5 years + post qualification experience
Previous experience working in an inhouse environment with a broad commercial background
Proven ability to offer commercially focused legal services
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Excellent attention to detail including accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
Able to be dependable, follow instructions, respond to management direction
Must be organized with strong time management skills
Highly Dynamic and adaptable work ethic
Collaborative and strong interpersonal skills
