Business Analyst

Cyber Security Business Analyst - Fixed-term full-time contract to 30th November 2025 Location: Sydney CBD (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days WFH) As a Cyber Security Business Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding Uniting's digital assets while driving high-impact cyber security projects and initiatives.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you'll collaborate closely with product owners and stakeholders across the organisation to define, prioritise, and deliver solutions that ensure security and value.
Key Responsibilities Facilitating Workshops and Process Mapping: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritise requirements using agile practices.
Solution Delivery: Partner with consultants and technical teams to ensure solutions align with business needs.
Security Capability Uplift: Support discovery, requirements gathering, stakeholder coordination, and documentation for projects and BAU activities.
Agile Practices: Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Process and Solution Validation: Ensure alignment with both functional and non-functional requirements.
Testing Coordination: Lead testing efforts, including user acceptance testing.
Change Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption of solutions.
Team Support: Foster collaboration across IT teams, stakeholders, and delivery teams to achieve project goals.
Skills and Competencies Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to deliver creative, timely solutions.
Organisation: Strong planning, time management, and goal-setting skills.
Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience in cyber security implementations (e.g., Network Segmentation, Cloud Security, IAM, Email Security).
Basic understanding of cyber security frameworks, risks, and compliance.
Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, and industry standards like BABOK.
Agility: Proficient in agile methodologies and participating in scrum ceremonies.
Soft Skills: Creative thinking, facilitation, and stakeholder management.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Experience Minimum 5 years as a Business Analyst, with a focus on cyber security projects.
Proven experience as a Business Analyst, defining business value, requirements, and benefits realisation for multiple technical projects in various lifecycle stages Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience navigating complex organisations, forging relationships, and influencing outcomes.
