The Role The Credit Risk Manager role at FinTech Services is an exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate to explore and create new and innovative approaches to credit risk management in a near-prime and progressive company.
The Credit Risk Manager is a critical role which contributes to business performance through managing the credit risk management models, policies and processes across the credit lifecycle on lending products.
Working in a company with a "moderate risk tolerance" and a growing portfolio, there is a need for the successful candidate to balance risk and innovation through excellent change management, portfolio monitoring and analytical capabilities to enhance credit decisioning.
The role has a large exposure to the Executive team and will be required to think outside of the box to deliver innovative thought leadership.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: Maintain and communicate the credit risk strategy and processes to the businessOversee credit risk related reporting to the businessProvide regular updates of performance against credit-related targetsManage ad-hoc/individual changes to credit scoring and assessmentMonitor and maintain credit scoring modelsLeverage data and analytics insights to identify opportunities for improved portfolio performanceMaximise bureau and other supplier relationships to identify data sources and products that will improve credit decisioningEnsure credit committee meetings are held regularlyMonitor and report on performance of key metrics and processes impacting portfolio performanceGenerate monthly provisions and EIR calculations for inclusion in financial reportsMaintain provisions modelling and participate in annual audit of provisions.What you'll need: Credit Risk Management experience within financial services / insurance sectorsPrior experience in credit strategy development, deployment and monitoring5+ years in analytical modelling.What we'd prefer: Consumer lending / credit experience in fixed term, revolving term and/or automotive portfoliosPrior exposure to scorecard and/or model development for consumer riskExperience with decisioning platforms and/or decisioning systems that operationalise policies in the credit lifecycleSQL or Python knowledgeAdvanced skills in Excel/PowerBI/modelling tools.Formal education in mathematics, statistics, computer science or a related field would be highly regarded.
