This is a temporary full-time opportunity to join a dynamic team of instructional leaders, with specific oversight of Loganlea State High School's Special Education Department, as our Head of Department (Special Needs) for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role As the Head of Department- Special Needs, you will have responsibility for (but not limited to) the following:
Lead the school's Special Education Department teachers, students, and stakeholders to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.Support the behaviour and learning of all students through a seamless transition of student progression.Assist in leading and coordinating the maintenance, review and implementation of inclusive practices under the NCCD model of support.Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students with disability.Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the Special Education Department to achieve goals.Assist in leading and coordinating the maintenance, review and implementation of curriculum frameworks, pedagogy, programs, assessment and reporting.Provide instructional leadership and staff training (particularly in the areas of QCIA and Individual Curriculum Plans, Flexible Arrangements and NCCD processes).Lead specialist programs and supports including Senior Student Tracking, Enrolments, Support Provisions, PLPs, Health Plans, Behaviour Plans, Additional funding applications, Student Transport Assistance program, and transition through all phases of learning.Demonstrate a high level of relational capacity.How to Apply Please attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history); andA 2-page response to the How you will be Assessed section of the attached role description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.
