In this capacity, the Environmental Services Manager plays a crucial role.
Through leadership excellence, the successful candidate will not only manage their department's budget but also ensure that their team delivers exemplary service.
This role is responsible for creating an enriching experience for both Team Members and Residents, fostering an environment where every individual feels valued and cared for.

A competitive salary and vacation package Health & Dental benefits program RRSP with employer match Share Ownership and Reward Program (SOAR) Employee Share Purchase Plan with company match Continuous learning and growth so you have the skillset needed to succeed and take on new challenges A welcoming culture that values diversity and differing perspectives, experiences and beliefs What You Will be Doing: Oversee the environmental services of the retirement home Plan, coordinate, direct and monitor the effectiveness of all activities within the housekeeping, laundry and maintenance departments Hire, onboard, orient, train, schedule, supervise, and offer feedback/coaching to team members in the environmental service department to uphold Aspira standards Manage departmental budgets, ensuring availability of adequate resources and equipment through budget preparation, maintenance, and hiring of suitable staff as needed Ensure the building, including its equipment, furnishings, and fixtures, is maintained in a clean, sanitary, and well-repaired condition Manage the upkeep of external grounds and supervise the waste management program for the home Ensure that linen and residents' personal clothing are laundered in a timely and efficient manner Assist in the implementation of the fire safety program for the home Manage the quality assurance program for housekeeping, maintenance, and laundry services.
Support and engage in quality initiatives by offering input and suggestions for improvement, and reporting feedback to the General Manager Oversee and manage the routine and preventative maintenance program for the home Who You Are: Hold a degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution, with relevant background and experience in environmental services Successfully completed Fire Safety planning training for owners and operators as per provincial regulations Possess a background in the building trades, with the ability to read and interpret building prints/drawings considered advantageous Brings two years of supervisory and/or management experience, with a focus on housekeeping, laundry, or maintenance practices You have strong people skills that can guide, motivate and supervise a diverse team while also being able to delegate tasks effectively Can demonstrate patient, understanding, and able to connect with both residents and their families You are able to think quickly, adapt to changing situations, and resolve issues efficiently Possess effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, manage budgets and ensure the smooth operation of the department What you need to know: Sienna Senior Living is committed to creating an inclusive environment where all team members and residents feel like they belong.
