Your Team The Analytics team is part of CFS' Customer Office, which is accountable for our customer's experience of the brand, products, and services.
The Director – Data Science reports to the Executive Director – Customer Strategy and Analytics and leads a team of data scientists and engineers in an agile operating model.
Your Responsibilities The Director of Data Science will lead and manage the data science and engineering team, driving the vision, strategy, and execution of data-driven initiatives, with a focus on Data Science.
It will also leverage advanced analytics and machine learning to drive and improve business outcomes.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists and engineers, providing strategic direction, supporting execution, and promoting professional development. Strategy: Develop and execute CFS' data science strategy aligned to CFS' business strategy, through thought leadership and data science and data products that materially improve outcomes. Advanced Analytics: Build, implement, and leverage advanced statistical models and machine learning techniques to identify issues/opportunities and drive outcomes. Data Enablement: Identify and execute data delivery priorities to maximize engineering value. Project Management: Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex data science projects, ensuring they are on time, within scope, and deliver high value to the business. Initiatives: Lead the data science component of CFS strategic initiatives. Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership and stakeholders. Innovation: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and implement cutting-edge data science methodologies to maintain a competitive advantage. Technology & Tools: Evaluate and integrate data platforms, analytics tools, and emerging technologies that drive efficiency and innovation in data science. Performance Optimisation: Track, measure, and report the effectiveness of data science initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement through data science. Your Capability and Experience Solid experience in data science and in a leadership role previously.
Expertise in machine learning, AI, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling. Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and other data science tools. Expertise and experience in Azure, AWS, Fabric, Data Bricks, and Power BI. Excellent business and strategic acumen, with experience working with executive leadership to drive data-driven decision-making as well as practical implementation. A track record of producing data science products delivering customer & commercial value. Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong project management experience with implementing solutions end-to-end. Desirable: Experience in wealth management and superannuation. Expertise and experience in data architecture. Experience with agile methodologies and tools such as Scrum and JIRA. Experience developing and growing high-performing teams. Experience in consultant-style companies to deliver projects for various companies. Master's or PhD in, for example, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
