The Department of Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their Rehabilitation team at Mersey Community Hospital.
The Team:
The Rehabilitation Service Unit consists of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team dedicated to enhancing patients' functional and cognitive abilities to improve independence and quality of life.
We use an individualised patient-centred approach that aims to meet the goals and outcomes mutually identified by the individual, their family, and therapy staff.
The Role:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Rehabilitation will work within an Acute / Primary Health Care Framework, Agency policies, legal requirements, and professional competencies.
Responsibilities include:
Provide professional advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the delivery of clinical advice, assessments, and interventions based on best practice in the health care management of individuals requiring rehabilitation services.
Maintain a comprehensive network with community and support groups and develop professional collaborative linkages with other health professionals across acute and community sectors.
Implement evidence-based practices through teaching, research, policy and protocol development, and direct example within the practice setting.
Details of Appointment:
Fixed term, part-time day worker position, working up to 48 hours per fortnight, commencing from February 2025 until January 2026.
Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 pro rata, per annum, with an 11.5% superannuation contribution on top of this amount.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range of $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
In addition, the following allowances may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
Benefits available to eligible candidates:
Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.
Fitness Passport – access to 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria, including being registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
