We've also been rapidly expanding and diversifying into the fields of laser shaft alignment, condition monitoring, onsite balancing, and other exciting new areas.With a wide range of products and services, this is an exciting opportunity to grow your skill set and work with great mentors.About the Role:We require a motivated manager to lead and drive a small team of technicians, manage existing contracts, quote on new work and contracts, liaise with senior employees of our customers, and drive quality and safety.Our proven track record and excellent customer relationships have made us a well-respected player in the industry and are driving our expansion in this market.Key Role Responsibilities:Ensure the focus and profitability of the Transformer Group is met through the close alignment of inter-department activities.Repair and refurbishment activities are within estimates, budget, and time.Develop a highly skilled and motivated team with competency levels which meet the company's business objectives and customer needs effectively, accurately, and safely.Co-ordinate and allocate tasks to work team members in conjunction with Transformer Workshop Supervisor on required completion dates and to ensure maximum utilization of resources within the responsible work team. Ensure cost-effective use of financial, material, and human resources.Lead Business Development activities including preparation of minor quotations and assist in the development of major tenders and client visits.Compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, work procedures, and practices.Skill Requirements:Provide the support role when undertaking investigations and repair of customer plant in the workshop and field.Liaise with equipment manufacturers and customers to solve electrical plant problems and develop strategies, plans, and actions to resolve them.5 Year minimum experience in Traction Transformers.Assist peers and subordinates to perform investigations on traction transformers and guide field test teams in fault-finding activities on traction transformer auxiliary plant in the workshop and field.Preparation of tenders, estimates, and work plans for workshop activities.Provide technical guidance for routine and emergency workshop services.Perform investigations of transformers and produce reports on the findings and recommendations.Keep abreast of technology and trends in transformer repair & test, mechanical services, and oil re-processing.Develop committed, motivated, and skilled teams, individuals, and self to enhance performance by monitoring staff behaviours to enhance personal involvement in the group's goals and activities.A technical background is essential in securing this position.Prior experience managing projects and dealing with the rail industry will be beneficial.Our company values our employees and strives to create an inclusive and supportive workplace for all.
