Our mission is to empower individuals by offering personalised support and comprehensive services that enhance their quality of life and promote independence.Winner of Most Outstanding Support Worker and finalist for Best Accommodation Provider of the Australian Disability Awards 2024.We are currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic support workers to join our dedicated team in Greenslopes and surrounding suburbs to provide person-centered care to our participants.About the RoleOur participant is seeking a motivated and flexible disability support worker to join our team on a casual basis.
You must be reliable, trustworthy, and passionate.
You are expected to possess strong interpersonal skills to engage and hold conversations with the client.
Diabetes experience and proficient insulin administration skills are essential requirements for staff.Your role will involve assisting the participants with daily personal care, medications especially the morning insulin, light domestic chores, and assistance with food preparation.You must be available for a two-hour shift on Saturday 9:00am – 11:00am and willing to attend insulin administration training with the nurse.Clients Supports NeedsUnderstand the needs, goals, and daily activities of Participants.Use positive reinforcement and other techniques to support Participants in their daily routines.Prompting assistance: personal care, meal preparation, and managing appointments.Physical assistance required with domestic duties and other tasks as required.Manage and record insulin levels and administer insulin.Qualifications and SkillsCert 3 Individual Support or equivalent and/or minimum 1 year experience supporting clients with Psychosocial disabilities and/or complex behaviours is highly desirable.Valid Driver's license essential.Current Paid employee Blue Card.Current Paid employee Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance.Current First Aid & CPR.NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module (or willing to obtain before employment).Full Australian working rights.Smartphone with internet access.Two current (within the past 2 years) professional references from a supervisor will be required.Why choose usAward-Winning: We were recognised with the Most Outstanding Support Worker Award and were a finalist for Best Accommodation Provider at the Australian Disability Awards 2024.Supportive Environment: Join a well-established, successful team with in-house clinical expertise offering ongoing training and skill development.Meaningful Work: Make a lasting impact by assisting individuals to achieve their goals and prioritise daily tasks and foster independence.Weekly pay based on the SCHAD's Home Care Award, plus opportunities for additional shifts.If you're passionate about empowering others and excel in managing complex support needs, we want to hear from you.
