About the role
This full-time or part-time Estimator - Fire role is an exciting opportunity to join the team at AUSTRALIAN FIRE SERVICES in Norwood, South Australia.
In this critical position, you will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for fire safety projects, ensuring the financial viability and successful delivery of the company's services.
What you'll be doing
Conducting thorough analysis of project requirements, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive cost estimates Liaising with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing information Preparing detailed cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, and equipment requirements Identifying potential risks and providing recommendations to mitigate cost overruns Collaborating with the sales team to support the bidding and tendering process Maintaining accurate records and documentation of the estimating process Continuously researching and staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices What we're looking for
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction or fire safety industry Demonstrated expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and project costing Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project documents Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards in the fire safety industry Proficient in using estimating software and MS Office applications What we offer
