Join the team at one of the leading public health organisations in Australia About the Role Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumers stay well in the community. The team provides specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people. Community mental health services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers, and Peer Support Workers. The role will be based at Marrickville. The Senior Community Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing advanced evidence-based, strengths-focused, recovery-oriented assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and coordinating consumers' recovery plans. The senior role is also responsible for complex clinical decision making, supervision, and consultancy to colleagues, Community Managed Organisations, GPs, and our community.The role will include clinical lead in orientation, induction, and mentorship of new clinical staff. The role will lead quality improvement activities, clinical supervision, and participation in clinical leadership responsibilities as required.The Mental Health professional will practice in keeping with the standardised Sydney LHD position description for their specific profession in addition to this position description. Ideal Candidate Tertiary qualification in occupational therapy or social work, and extensive specialist experience including a minimum of 3 years experience in mental health. Full AHPRA registration (OT) or eligibility for membership to AASW. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of and skills in recovery-oriented services and consumer involvement in service design, implementation, and evaluation. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, time management and computing skills, and current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
