The funding that supports this project has an expected end date of 31 December 2026.
Responsibilities: Be part of a dynamic team of rural clinicians, medical educators, and researchers. Lead in-house research while developing your own research agenda. Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to health system challenges in rural Australia. Position overview: ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world.
This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy.
The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the Research School of Psychology, the ANU Medical School, the John Curtin School of Medical Research, and the Research School of Population Health.
These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national, and international levels.
The Rural Clinical School (RCS) within the SMP is seeking to make a part-time appointment at either Level C or Level D to lead our program of rurally focused research.
This role provides an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor to lead and coordinate research activity within the RCS and further develop programs of rural health research that meet the objectives of the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program.
These include strategies for effective rural medical education and training, improving the recruitment, retention, and skills of the rural health workforce, investigating health issues that affect rural and remote communities, developing innovative models of service delivery, and improving the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
The position is part of a regionally based team of clinical academic and professional staff that delivers locally-based medical education and research throughout south east NSW, in partnership with local health services and primary care practitioners.
