Our Newman Operations are located approximately 5 to 10kms out of Newman, Western Australia which makes it a short trip to/from work

We are currently seeking highly motivated Heavy Diesel Fitters who are interested in moving to Newman and joining our Newman Operations residential teams for upcoming opportunities.
Newman Operations is part of Western Australian Iron Ore and consists of two mining sites in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Comprising of Newman East and Newman West - Newman Operations accounts for about 78 million tonnes in total iron ore production.

Our MEM departments focus on the following equipment.
You will have the opportunity to select your area of expertise in your application:
Field equipment: (Drills and Excavators) Epiroc drills D65, PV271.
Excavators Liebherr 9150, 9400, R996BLV / Auxiliary: Highway Trucks, Service Trucks, MPU's, Lighting Plants, GeneratorsCurrently we are seeking Fitters for our Ancillary equipment: (Wheel Loaders, Track Dozers, Graders, Wheel Dozers, Scrapers) all CAT In your role your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, attending breakdowns and running complex diagnostics/testing and fault finding of mobile fleetIdentifying and rectifying faults during inspections and following specific maintenance programsInitiating updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipmentProviding input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliabilityIdentifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive wayDemonstrating a focus on safety, achievement and team engagement in all aspects of workNewman residential opportunities are on a lifestyle roster (4 days on - 5 off, 5 nights on - 4 off, 5 days on - 5 off, 4 nights on - 5 off, 5 days on - 4 off, 5 nights on - 5 off).
About YouReporting to the Supervisors within the Mobile Equipment Maintenance teams we are looking for candidates who possess the following:
Australian Recognised Heavy Mechanical QualificationsTechnically/mechanically sound skills with Liebherr, CAT, Cummins and/or Epiroc is highly sought afterDemonstrated diagnostics and breakdown experience with ideally both trucks & ancillary equipmentDogging, Rigging and Forklift Licenses are desirableA commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail and procedureComputer literacy and/or experience in 1SAPSafety first mentalityAbout Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
