Senior Manager, Operational Risk (Root Cause Analysis)Westpac Banking Corporation, Sydney, AustraliaJob DescriptionPermanent roleSydney/Melbourne based - hybrid workingRoot Cause Analysis technical capability required.How will I help?The Senior Manager, Root Cause Analysis will ensure that effective root cause analysis (RCA) methodology and processes are implemented and embedded within the business divisions. You will manage the RCA programme through its lifecycle (Standards, Training and Monitoring) and drive programme uplift when required. You will engage proactively across the organisation to ensure stakeholders are appropriately informed and skilled. You will drive the RCA forum management including preparation, execution and actions, and regularly review and update the RCA methodology, as well as policy and procedures, to keep up with market best practice. In addition to this you will ensure:RCAs for new high-risk source events as well as progress updates for previously agreed actions are submitted timely for discussion at the Quarterly RCA forums.Stakeholders have the knowledge and skills to complete their RCAs, and the quality of the RCAs is evident by the positive outcome (no high rates issues) from independent assurance reviews.RCAs for high-risk source events including regulatory breaches are completed in line with the methodology, and any missing or delayed RCAs are escalated timely for attention and action.RCA methodologies are reviewed and updated according to prescribed standard and timeframe, and it is in line with market best practice.What do I need?To be successful in this role you will ensure that RCAs are adequately completed within agreed timeframes for all high rated issues, severe and very high incidents including regulatory breaches. You will ensure RCA methodology is effectively implemented as evidenced by the positive outcome from assurance reviews. The ideal candidate will have:Extensive Risk and Control expertise including 3 to 5 years of Root Cause Analysis technical expertise.Excellent stakeholder management skills.Good analytical skills and understanding of causal factors.Good communication skills - both written and verbal.How do I apply?Start here.
