Your opportunity We're seeking an experienced Principal People Business Partner to join our SEQ People team in Brisbane on a 6-month contract .
In this pivotal role, you'll partner with our Network Maintenance team within the SEQ, providing strategic HR guidance and shaping initiatives that drive operational excellence.
Key responsibilities Partner with leaders to develop and implement effective people strategies that align with business objectives.
Provide expert advice on employee relations, industrial relations, and award interpretation to support operational needs.
Influence and coach stakeholders on HR best practices and change management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Utilise data-driven insights to shape strategic decisions and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
Manage projects and initiatives with a focus on safety, engagement, and operational efficiency.
Act as a bridge between the business and HR to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions tailored to workforce needs.

What we're looking for 5–7 years as an HR Business Partner, ideally with blue collar or operational workforce.
Strong expertise in employee/industrial relations, including experience working with modern awards.
Confidence, curiosity, and exceptional communication skills to build trust and influence outcomes.
Someone who drives for outcomes and keeps work on track A proactive approach to embedding safety into HR strategies and initiatives.
Ability to operate autonomously, think critically, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Ideally, ready to hit the ground running with a start date in January 2025.
Remuneration The starting base salary for this role is $146,240 (prorated) plus 12.75% superannuation and hybrid work options to support the balance between work and personal commitments.
