Business process improvement specialist Contract for 6 months| Brisbane CBD & Work from Home Join a large Queensland government department as a Business Process Improvement Specialist should be an analytical and strategic thinker, with strong technical skills and experience of business processes, controls, and mature risk management to drive measurable outcomes and drive a tangible difference in operational effectiveness.
About the Role Key responsibilities include: Work with the Specialist Remediation Team and the broader COO Group to analyse the issues, root causes and recommendations identified within Claims related internal audit and regulatory review reports from a process and controls perspective.
Analyse claims and other COO Group business workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose effective solutions.
Provide expert guidance and support to: document the end-to-end claims management process.
define the future control environment.
identify and optimise inefficient processes and controls to enhance our customer experiences and drive better business outcomes.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to: uncover opportunities for process and controls improvement.
provide insights and strategies to improve overall process and control efficiency.
understand the benefits and scope of process re-engineering and controls mapping.
identify and resolve issues related to the businesses process needs.
drive ongoing and sustainable process and controls practices within Claims and the broader COO Group.
Establish process and control governance for the Specialist Remediation Team and broader COO Group as required to ensure clear ownership and accountabilities.
Create and populate a process and control library with a key focus on the end-to-end claims management process and other processes within the broader COO Group as required.
Develop and implement guidelines and processes for control design, oversight and reporting within Claims and other areas within the COO Group as required.
Work with key stakeholders to uncover opportunities for operational excellence within Claims and the COO Group.
Lead and contribute to bespoke operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives within the COO Group as required tailored to business needs and ensuring a measurable impact.
Maintain strong, ongoing relationships to drive alignment and successful delivery of process, controls and business improvement initiatives.
As determined, work across the COO Group to support key activities and programs of work to drive operational excellence.
About You Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field or relevant experience in relation to this role.
Minimum 10 years' experience in business optimisation and process improvement, or a related role such as business architecture.
Deep understanding and experience of business processes, controls and mature risk management to drive measurable outcomes.
Strong understanding and experience of risk management frameworks, in particular within a financial services organisation.
Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to influence stakeholders through effective communication.
Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail.
Strong experience utilising process improvement methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working in complex regulated environments such as financial services or insurance.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
