Permanent Part-Time & Casual - DevonportApply now Job no: 503732Employment type: Casual, Part TimeLocation: Devonport & North WestCategories: Child, Youth & Family About the Role We are currently recruiting for Residential Youth Support Workers to join our Short-Term Emergency Residential Care team in the Northwest Tasmania area.
Short Term Emergency Residential Care is designed for young people who are unable to be placed through standard placement avenues, such as foster care, specialist care or other residential contracted service.
These are hands-on Permanent Part-Time or Casual positions, with most time spent in the house or participating in recreational activities.
You will be working directly with children and young people; the positions are based in a 24/7 Residential Setting with fortnightly rotating shift rosters.
The program prioritises the safety and well-being of children and young people, offering a predictable, home-like environment that is culturally safe and responsive.
Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and transport to children and young people.Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people.Form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships.Develop, implement and monitor individual plans.Actively support the child/young person to develop and maintain social skills.Maintain progress notes and report writing.Skills & Experience Certificate 4 in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, or similar.A current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to complete prior to commencement.Ability to work various shifts (sleepover & active nights) throughout the week.Prior knowledge and/or experience working with young people, people with a disability, and/or vulnerable persons.Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Vulnerable People check.
