Business Development Manager / Relationship Manager - Loan Origination Opportunity to join an experienced private credit team to drive loan origination.

Our client has a strong and demonstrable track record in the Australian private credit sector, having successfully invested in excess of $1bn across their range of mid-market strategies.
Their success has been underpinned by the support of a diverse and loyal investor base who have backed the inception and subsequent growth of their private credit investment strategies.
They are now turning their sights to expanding loan origination and seeking an additional team member to drive this, in close collaboration with each investment strategy team leader.

Suitable candidates will have at least 10 years professional experience, possessing a knowledge of the Australian non-bank lending origination ecosystem, and preferably having knowledge of the intricacies of either the structured asset backed or real estate financing markets.

The ideal candidate will be a natural networker with strong relationship management and business development skills, highly driven, collaborative in the way they work with colleagues and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
A demonstrated practical understanding of risk, loan structuring and end-to-end loan transaction lifecycles, as well as existing relationships with finance brokers and debt advisors will be viewed favourably.

The role will involve:
Developing an intimate knowledge of the capabilities and processes within each of the business's private credit strategies.
The ability to articulate these to borrower advisors/brokers so as to position the business as the preferred provider of mid-market private credit lending solutions.
Understanding and fulfilling the needs of finance brokers and debt advisors and their clients.
Recognition of loan opportunities likely to be attractive to the business and in conjunction with the investment team triaging those opportunities worthy of further investigation relative to those that will not proceed.
Facilitation of relationship hand-off to the investment team at the appropriate point while always being available to facilitate a smooth client experience from enquiry through to completion of a loan.
Not being reliant on the investment team to obtain introductions to new loan opportunities.
Having genuine drive to grow a business, working tirelessly to deepen existing relationships and identify new sources of loans.
Being a highly motivated self-starter with a structured process, initiative and attention to detail.
Working closely with marketing to maximise the opportunity set and move prospective clients through the awareness-interest-enquiry-action stages of the marketing funnel.
Preferred candidates could come from backgrounds including but not limited to: bank or non-bank commercial or structured finance, debt advisor/broker, integrated real estate fund managers, institutional investors, independent private capital funds and family offices.
