About the Role Reporting to the FAS Senior Assessor, you will be responsible for the review and approval of applications for financial assistance as per the Act, established policy, guidelines, and procedures.
Some of your duties will include: Analyse and approve applications and requests for payments as per the Act, and interpretation of established policy, guidelines, and procedures.
Escalate complex and high-risk applications and decisions as appropriate.Identify, analyse, and provide advice on documentary evidence requirements for applicants or their appointed representative to enable assessment of their application.About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience working with victims of family violence, sexual assault, and victims of crime more broadly and an understanding of the systemic barriers faced by marginalised communities in the justice system.Ability to read, interpret and apply legislation and policy, exercise judgement autonomously within the scope of the role, and escalate issues as necessary.Qualifications A relevant qualification and/or experience in community services, social work, criminology, psychology, victim services and/or family violence is highly desirable.
