Executive Director Youth Justice
Based in Parramatta - flexible and hybrid arrangements available Temporary position available for a period of up to 12 months Total Remuneration Payable: $318,325 to $354,479 Targeted recruitment

Your role
Youth Justice is in a period of significant reform, as we adapt our service system to better meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities.
We are looking for a dynamic leader to oversee, lead, and direct Youth Justice NSW Division within this changing environment.

What you'll do
Maintain facilities focused on security, treatment, rehabilitation, and safety of young offenders while ensuring they have access to appropriate education, programs, and services.
Forge and develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders to drive commitment and achievement of long-term community sustainability for DCJ services.
Create solutions for politically sensitive issues.
Elevate financial reporting to support strategic, data-driven decision-making.
Drive and support a high-performing team.
Enhance the risk management framework, focusing on strategic operations to reduce recidivism and re-offending.
Provide thought leadership in financial management reforms, efficiency improvements, talent management, and technology advancements.
Play a key role in strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment with broader government objectives.
Implement the Youth Justice Aboriginal workforce strategy.
Implement and monitor the Youth Justice Aboriginal Practice Mandate.
What we're looking for
Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience and training.
Demonstrated ability to develop innovative strategies and solutions relating to the custody of young offenders, including reducing recidivism and enhancing early intervention.
Proven senior/executive experience in politically sensitive roles.
Strong history of driving cultural and transformational change.
Strategic thinker with a talent for developing value-generating opportunities.
Excellent presentation skills, able to simplify and clarify complex issues.
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build influential relationships.
Experience in establishing and leading a high-performing, specialised team.
