Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia.
AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity.

Our low carbon vision targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.

About the Opportunity
The Work Practices Manager is responsible for leading the work practices and technical training programs for the defined businesses including assisting with the development, planning and implementation of AGIG's HSE WP T vision and strategy, aligned with set corporate objectives.
In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring that industry best practice is achieved in relation to the HSE WP T of all directly and indirectly employed workers through integrating HSE WP T with business strategy, processes and practices and proactively, consistently managing wellbeing and injury management.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage work practice, technical training, cultural change programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop, review, integrate and endorse work practices policies, procedures, associated systems and processes with key stakeholders, setting leading metrics.
Ensure compliance with Safety and Gas Distribution regulations and standards.
Engage with internal and Service Providers key stakeholders to deliver endorsed plans addressing Work Practice performance in line with set plans and as appropriate supporting operational events.
Support the development and review of training materials, ensuring they are in line with procedures, industry standards and legal requirements.
Develop capability to lead technical skills training given diminishing RTO competency.
Provide advice regarding trends, innovations, and leading practices.
Management of timely workplace investigations, for incidents and events, and reporting on the outcomes and actions taken for continuous improvement.
About You:
Proven experience in delivering fit for purpose operational safety work practices in alignment with the relevant safety and Gas Distribution systems with best practice focus.
Working knowledge of a broad Safety and Work Practice function in particular significance experience in: WHS legislation, Gas distribution Regulations, Training and Development and Policy Development.
Proactive work with energy regulators.
Experience documenting procedures and delivering training programs.
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and gas related Industry skills.
Intimate knowledge of the Work Health Safety Acts and Gas regulations.
Knowledge of Safety, Work Practice and Training Management System and governance aligned with legal and best practice.
Demonstrated experience in leading a team with a geographically spread group.
