Position: IT Infrastructure Manager
Type: Full time
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Manager who will be able to bring both their experience and knowledge into the team but most importantly, their passion and exuberance for technology to the company.
Here at MachShip, we're disrupting the freight industry and building the world's premier cloud-based Freight Management System.
Our core product is a SaaS application using a containerised, micro-service based architecture hosted within Kubernetes.
We are heavily invested in both our engineering team and the latest technology.
We are a young Australian Company with a team of 25+ engineers that is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Manager to join and lead our infrastructure team.
You would be leading our engineering team and ultimately be responsible for our infrastructure, including its networking architecture, monitoring, uptime, and maintenance.
Our ideal candidate is strong in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes, and virtualisation.
Our office is based in Richmond, Melbourne, however, working conditions are flexible with our engineering team having the opportunity to work remotely.
As part of this role, there is growth in automated deployments using Terraform and other scripted languages.
Core skills: In-depth knowledge of servers, storage systems, networks, virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (e.g.
AWS, Azure, GCP).
Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) including standing up environments from scratch.
Team leadership: Ability to manage, mentor, and develop IT teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Project Management: Skills in planning and executing infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
5+ years experience managing Linux virtualised environments.
Expert knowledge of Linux and Bash.
Experience managing Kubernetes in a production environment.
