The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking Senior Clinicians passionate about delivery of quality clinical services to a forensic disability cohort, to provide a critical role in Forensic Intervention Services.

About the business unit

Corrections Victoria is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety and is responsible for the direction, management, and operation of Victoria's adult corrections system, including Community Correctional Services, public and privately operated prisons, and a transitional centre.
It ensures prisoners are safely and securely contained and aims to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

As a division of Corrections Victoria, Forensic Intervention Services is a specialist program area within the Offender Services Division that providesusers in custody and in the community with offence-specific, evidence-based screening, assessment, and intervention services to support their rehabilitation.
In doing so, Forensic Intervention Services is a critical component of the department's strategy to reduce reoffending and contribute to community safety.

About the Senior Clinician roles

The Senior Clinician, Disability and Supported Pathways is responsible for managing and leading a multidisciplinary team of clinicians in delivering a range of clinical services state-wide, including screenings, assessments, and group-based intervention programs to a forensic disability cohort with cognitive impairment who have perpetrated sexual and violent offences.

Some of your duties will include:
Provide clinical leadership, consultation and expertise in the planning and delivery of forensic disability programs and services delivered by the team.
Provide clinical staff with high quality supervision and access to professional development opportunities.
Contribute to ongoing operational service integrity by observing and providing feedback to staff on their delivery of assessments, and group and individual interventions.
Provide offence-specific assessments, individual interventions to complex cases, and/or co-facilitate group-based clinical programs.
To be successful in the Senior Clinician role, you will have:
Minimum four years post-registration clinical experience, or equivalent.
Significant experience in and knowledge of assessment, individual and group treatment and behaviour intervention treatment models with complex populations (e.g., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Transtheoretical Model of Change, Trauma Informed Care, Strengths Based Approaches).
Adherence to and demonstration of key therapist characteristics (empathy, warmth, rewarding and directive) to facilitate the therapeutic relationship.
Adherence to and demonstrated understanding of the Risk Needs Responsivity Model.
Demonstrated experience managing and leading staff in multidisciplinary clinical teams
Clinical experience with a forensic disability population is desirable, but not required.
Qualifications
Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency(AHPRA); or
Member of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) with accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker.
Credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
Registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
Specialist training and/or postgraduate qualifications in a clinical, forensic or forensic disability field, is desirable.
Psychology Board of Australia Approved Supervisor status, or equivalent, is desirable.
A current Victorian driver's licence is required.
