Open Spaces Supervisor

Full time, fixed term until end of April 2025 with the University of SydneyAn exciting opportunity to join the Open Spaces team in providing safe, clean, aesthetically pleasing environments for staff, students and visitorsBase Salary $121,508 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunity The Open Spaces Supervisor is responsible for the management of all Open Spaces maintenance contracts to ensure optimised financial and operational performance. The supervisor will ensure all statutory compliance is adhered to as well as meeting the analytical needs of key stakeholders in the faculties and the wider University community. The role facilitates planning and delivery of enhancement projects, improved outdoor learning spaces and development of environmentally sustainable landscape management programs.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Manage the administration of Open Spaces contracts with external vendors.Review and engage in the renewal and/or updating of contracts/agreements.Ensure maintenance programs are effectively managed, and stakeholders regularly informed.Monitor and measure contractor performance and address issues relating to performance shortfall.Manage contractors working on tree, irrigation, landscaping, metal works contracts.Manage resources and improve the quality of work including coordinating activities, budgets and resources.Manage risk and workplace health and safety for the campus public domain open spaces team.Travel periodically and as required to other University locations like Camden, Cumberland, Pearl Beach & Narrabri Campuses.About you Demonstrated experience dealing with contract management and managing on-site contractors.Experience dealing with large open spaces like Universities, farmland, park ranges, etc.Process improvement experience for developing, implementing and monitoring work practices.Superior customer service, managing and influencing a large group of politically sensitive clients.Full NSW Drivers License.Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role requires valid work rights for Australia.
