A well-regarded Big 4 Australian bank is seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager – Operational Risk & Compliance to join their Line 2 Institutional Operational Risk & Compliance team on a 10 month initial contract.
This critical role focuses on embedding Non-Financial Risk (NFR) management practices across the bank's Institutional Division, aligning with ambitious regulatory and operational resilience objectives.
About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-priority, enterprise-wide transformation initiative aimed at strengthening operational resilience and compliance.
The role will see you leading reviews, advising stakeholders, and driving activities to achieve the successful embedding of frameworks and systems across the risk management lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include: Leading thematic reviews of key NFR embedding initiatives, including closure of issues, divisional alignment with target states, and process management improvements.
Providing oversight, review, and challenge to ensure compliance with the NFR Operating Model across High Impact Processes (HIPs).
Communicating and educating stakeholders on NFR frameworks, systems, and reporting requirements.
Supporting countries in completing compliance uplift activities as part of transformation efforts.
Advising on continuous improvement and simplification of NFR processes, systems, and reporting.
What You'll Bring To thrive in this role, you will have: Extensive experience in Non-Financial Risk or Audit, or similar roles in Governance, Assurance, or Controls.
Demonstrated expertise in banking products and services within an Institutional context.
Knowledge of risk systems (e.g., IBM Open Pages, Service Now) and process mapping tools like Signavio.
Familiarity with NFR transformation frameworks (e.g., I.AM Amplified, NFR Hub, QlikSense).
Strong data analytical skills with the ability to synthesise large volumes of information into actionable insights.
Leadership experience and strategic thinking capabilities, with a collaborative mindset.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
