Transport Fleet And Maintenance Manager

Fleet Management (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Full time Established in 1979, they have grown to become a major transport company specializing in moving a variety of cargoes.
They are committed to providing modern, efficient, reliable, and safe transportation of all consignments.
Their large range of equipment and multiple depots ensures strong service delivery.Due to continued growth, there is a requirement for an experienced Transport Fleet and Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of the vehicle fleet and maintenance operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of the transport fleet, maintaining high standards of service, and compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities: Develop and implement maintenance standards and schedules to ensure the reliability and safety of all plant and equipment.Manage and monitor vehicle service and repair schedules to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.Ensure planned maintenance and repairs are in accordance with agreed service levels and ensure maintenance agreements are achieved.Conduct regular inspections and audits of all fleet vehicles to ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and safety standards.Prepare and manage the fleet maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.Develop and maintain relationships with vehicle manufacturers and parts suppliers to secure favourable terms and prompt service.Implement and oversee a comprehensive fleet safety program.Monitor fleet performance and generate reports on fleet utilization and maintenance costs, making recommendations for improvements and new acquisitions as needed.Maintain the fleet livery to a high standard.Handle the acquisition and disposal of fleet vehicles, ensuring optimal timing and financial considerations.Qualifications: Proven experience as a Fleet Manager, Maintenance Manager, or similar role with a focus on transport and logistics.Strong mechanical knowledge, including understanding of modern vehicle systems and electronics.Excellent organizational and leadership skills.Proficiency in fleet management software and systems.Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Skills: Qualifications as a Diesel Mechanic.Experience in managing a diverse vehicle fleet including trucks, trailers, and specialized vehicles.#J-18808-Ljbffr
