Cruise Whitsundays also operates Australia's first underwater accommodation, Reef suites, and a Reefsleep glamping experience at the Reefworld pontoon, moored offshore at Hardy Reef on the Great Barrier Reef.

ABOUT THE ROLE We are currently seeking 2 x Pontoon (Trade) Engineers to join the team on a Permanent Full Time basis.
The responsibility of the Pontoon (Trade) Engineers is to supervise the maintenance and operation of the Reefworld and Heart Pontoons in a safe and efficient manner, while also conforming to the requirements set forth by GRMPA, AMSA, SMA, and Journey Beyond.
The Pontoon Engineer must prioritize a strong dedication to safety and quality, guaranteeing the efficient and effective communication of vessel machinery and operations.
Your Typical day would include: Adherence to high levels of marine safety and pontoon maintenance compliance, ensuring all training and certificates are up to date;Compliance with Safety Management Systems;Maintenance and operation of pontoon generators and engines and other maintenance issues on the Pontoons;General pontoon operational tasks;Ensuring maintenance is undertaken on board and defects are recorded correctly;Customer service and product delivery working closely with the hospitality team;Interactive use of HELM (Asset Management System) and timely upkeep of maintenance requests.Minimum Requirements: Trade qualification with time served as diesel mechanic preferred;HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation;HLTAID011 Provide First Aid;HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy;SITHFAB009A - Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol;MARS00008 Elements of Shipboard Safety;Hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children's check- QLD);Hold a valid National Police Check.Benefits: 8 day on, 6 days off roster;Competitive remuneration;Generous Travel discounts;Up to 50% off at the Cruise Café & Bar;Up to 50% off Bar onboard Vessels;Free Public Transport;Study assistance Policy;Private Health discounts;Employee Assistance program;Lifestyle Roster;Discounts on Journey Beyond merchandise.Applications will be reviewed and progressed as they are received, so don't wait, apply now
