THE ROLE
The Senior Program Officer supports the Manager and Director in delivering a wide range of initiatives related to community engagement, policy and program design, planning, implementation and reporting, and/or contract administration related delivery.
The role will support the department's ongoing commitment to delivery of Communities 2032 Strategy and Action plan, including Queensland's LGBTQIA+ Strategy and Action Plan, Pride in our Communities.
The role will work in the Engagement team of the Communities Services Strategy and Engagement branch.
The Senior Program Officer will assist the department to achieve its vision through a performance driven and customer focused culture that delivers results, whilst displaying the core public sector values of customers first; ideas into action; unleash potential; be courageous; and empower people.

The position requires a person who will take personal responsibility for serving the government of the day and meeting the needs of the people and communities of Queensland.
You will work towards a system of world class service delivery and public sector management.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Support the development, coordination and implementation of programs and business activities to enable effective delivery of programs relevant to the work area.
Prepare a range of written materials that support advice to government, including reports, correspondence, briefing material, and information papers concerned with the initiatives delivered by the work area.
Actively participate in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders within and across government and broader human services networks.
Provide sound program advice and direction in relation to human service initiatives.
Provide secretariat support as required to governance groups, including the LGBTQIA+ Roundtable.
As a member of the team, undertake tasks allocated by the Manager in a constantly changing work environment.
Contribute to a professional environment through personal commitment to ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, skills development, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
