Everick Heritage is looking to appoint a key team member to support our Indigenous heritage projects.

We have developed an extensive client base and a reputation for providing quality advice and acting with integrity.
As a specialist heritage practice, we offer a full range of Indigenous, historic and built heritage services to private and government sectors, and we work directly with First Nations people across Australia.

About the role
We are looking for an exceptionally skilled and experienced training specialist within the field of archaeology to provide training and technical oversight for our team.
This will be a critical role for developing our staff and for meeting our quality assurance standards.
The initial tasks will involve further advancement of our internal training platform, including the preparation of training packages in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Once established, it is anticipated that the ongoing functions of the role will include:
Establishment of training metrics and assessment of training effectiveness; Coordination of and leading additional training sessions; Occasional fieldwork to train/assess staff; Participation in project research design; Mentoring of staff in scientific methods and opportunities; Periodic analysis of reporting standards to ensure appropriate compliance and quality benchmarks are being met; Critical analysis of the company's practices to ensure appropriate scientific standards are being implemented; Building and maintaining relationships with key research partners, including Indigenous groups and academic institutions; Research and publication on key areas of interest to the company; Collaboration on projects with our sister charity team in the Everick Foundation; Collaboration with the Vicus thermoluminescence laboratory team to advance buried rock surface (artefact) dating techniques.
As this will be a senior role, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in regular leadership management meetings and strategic planning workshops.
Developing strong professional relationships with the leadership team will be critical to the success of this role.

The ideal candidate will be based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth.
As this is a mentoring role, whilst the company operates under flexible work arrangements, the successful applicant will be expected to attend the local office the majority of the time.

Minimum Requirements:
A post graduate degree (preferably PhD) in archaeology.
An understanding of heritage legislation and a working knowledge of the various statutory requirements for Indigenous archaeology within Australia.
10+ years' professional experience in academia and/or within the field of Indigenous archaeology.
Excellent written skills in various forms of reporting.
Proven track record of training and mentoring archaeologists of varying experience and skills.
Proven ability to meet all quality standards associated with working in a professional capacity.
Ability and willingness to travel as required, including working remotely in the field from time to time.
Comprehension of the methods and ethics of a heritage consulting practice.
Current C-Class Drivers Licence – Essential.
High level of Project Management skills.
Appropriate training qualifications (such as Cert IV in Training & Assessment).
Highly developed collaborative skills and the ability to build success working relationships.
Proven ability to successfully manage teams.
Proven ability to deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets as well as delivering high-quality standards.
Experience in supervising field teams.
