About the Role
As our Senior Compliance Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our Second Line of Defence (2LOD) Compliance team.
You will provide expert advice to key stakeholders, promote effective compliance management, and foster a positive compliance culture across the Bank.
This position requires a thorough understanding of our products, operations, and regulatory landscape.
Responsibilities
Advise First Line of Defence (1LOD) business units on managing compliance obligations and risks.
Evaluate new and changed products and initiatives, assisting the 1LOD with compliance risk mitigation strategies.
Assess the impact of regulatory changes and market events on the Bank, defining appropriate responses.
Perform compliance oversight activities on key risks related to financial and credit products.
Develop and maintain a robust compliance framework, policies, and standards aligned with industry best practices.
Analyse and review significant compliance issues, ensuring potential breaches are identified and investigated.
Provide guidance on compliance policies and the risks associated with non-compliance.
Collaborate with various stakeholders, including legal teams and external regulators, to ensure comprehensive compliance management.
About You
You are a proactive compliance professional with a strong background in banking or financial services.
You excel in critical thinking and problem solving, and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.
You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Law, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years in compliance or risk management within the Banking/Financial Services/Insurance sector, with a solid understanding of key legislation (e.g., Corporations Act, ASIC Act).
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent drafting and oral communication abilities.
Proven stakeholder engagement and project management capabilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
In-depth knowledge of risk and compliance fundamentals.
