ABOUT OUR OPERATIONAgnico Eagle owns and operates the Fosterville Gold Mine, which is located on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, approximately 20 kilometres east of Bendigo in Central Victoria and 150 km from Melbourne.
With its population of approximately 120,000 people, Bendigo is one of Victoria's largest and most progressive regional cities offering a great residential lifestyle choice.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE: Fosterville Gold Mine is seeking applications for our newly created Strategic Optimisation Manager role.
We are looking for an experienced continuous improvement leader with a passion for excellence and a drive to achieve.
The role will work collaboratively with our site management and operational teams to share their experience and knowledge to support business innovation and productivity improvement initiatives.
Reporting to the Mine General Manager this role will:
Foster and grow our current site-based skill sets with respect to Continuous Improvement principles and processes to enhance operational efficiency and strategic business alignment.Deliver sustainable business optimisation and productivity improvements through the identification, development and maximisation of site-based resources and opportunities as we transition from third party engagement to ongoing onsite capacity.Collaborative development of FGM's Continuous Improvement roadmap, ensuring alignment with site, regional and company strategy.Identify and drive opportunities for innovation and lead the implementation of efficiency and cost reduction initiatives across our operational areas.Actively contribute to our high performing team culture, promoting a positive work environment consistent with the company's values as an integral member of the site Leadership team.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDTo be successful in this role you will demonstrate your strengths against the following: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant mining related discipline and commensurate business improvement experience in the mining industry to make a contribution in the senior site leadership team.Demonstrated experience in translating strategic priorities into operational reality, ensuring measurable and sustainable results including the ability to plan and organise team and individual work.Excellent communication and presentation skills (both oral and written).
Skilled negotiator and mediator – high emotional intelligence.Advanced ability to influence, motivate and coach at all levels across the organisation including management peers.
Enjoys the ability to coach and mentor developing talent in the organisation.Rigorously seeks to improve processes and effectively solve problems, looking for solutions beyond the obvious.
Able to thoroughly analyse situations and demonstrate disciplined decision making.Couples strategic thinking with strong business acumen and an unrelenting pursuit of productivity improvement.
Initiates and supports change within the organization, taking steps to remove barriers and improve performance.Balances time and priorities of themselves and others on achieving or surpassing the desired business objectives and can be counted on to deliver results with a sense of urgency.The roster for this residential position will initially be 5/2 with the ability to accommodate flexible work requests once you settle into the role, with either a 5/2, 4/3 or 4/3 roster.
A competitive salary package will be offered commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications, knowledge and experience.
