We are seeking a full-time or part-time (3-4 days per week) Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker to join our skilled and energetic clinical team.
About Us Southern Highlands Addiction Retreat is a new private residential addiction retreat situated on 100 Acres in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW.
We also own Gunnebah addiction retreat in Northern NSW.
We treat more than just the symptoms of addiction through a holistic approach to recovery.
We view recovery-based therapy as inclusive of someone's mental, spiritual, emotional, psychological well-being and extend this to a person's nutrition, exercise, sleep quality and environment.
The Role The role of the Psychologist/Social Worker (Mental Health Accredited) includes providing assessment, consultation, report writing, case management, and dual-diagnosis treatment for co-occurring mental health issues and addiction.
This involves utilising evidence-based trauma-focused therapies with a recovery focus for private guests and Veterans.
The successful candidate will be joining a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team in a newly created AOD specialist role to support an enhanced model of care at Australia's most outstanding addiction facility.
Key Responsibilities Provision of comprehensive therapeutic consultation, including psychoeducation, trauma-focused therapies, Focused Psychological Strategies (FPS) and Psychotherapy in a client-centred framework to private guests and Veterans.Facilitate and evaluate psychoeducation group sessions that meet the complex needs of guests, in consultation with the Lead Therapist and therapy team.Manage and undertake AOD dual diagnosis intake assessments to determine suitability for treatment.Liaise with a multidisciplinary team, relatives, and other services as required.Assessment of Veteran suitability and a detailed summary of their AOD and mental health history and treatments.Participate in therapy team meetings, discussions, and decision-making.Registration with AHPRA or AASW.Demonstrated experience working with Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) and mental health dual-diagnosis programs, providing evidence-based trauma-focused therapies and focused psychological strategies (FPS).Ability to work in a health-related field and provide a range of interventions e.g., psychosocial assessment, case management, group work, and psychoeducation.Comprehensive understanding of mental health conditions such as PTSD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders and their associated behaviours.Experience and confidence in providing both individual and group therapy.In-depth understanding and experience providing trauma-informed care.Strong personal resilience, work ethic and integrity.Ability to adapt communication style to meet the needs of a diverse range of people, and identify changing needs within a group.A clear understanding of professional and ethical standards of practice.Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment to deliver coordinated support.Demonstrated ability to provide person-centred holistic care for clients presenting with a broad range of substance use and psychosocial needs.Experience in counselling AOD clients with complex needs, using a range of modalities e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT.Experience in working with Veterans and NDIS participants will be highly regarded.Applications will be reviewed on submission.
