Operating across a range of functional areas, the opportunities at the Fish Factory are endlessYour RoleWe are looking for a Senior Fresh Market Assistant to join the team in our busy seafood retail market, on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will bring aspects of leadership and management into the role. You will be a leader for the market team, building strong, long-lasting relationships. You will be equipped with strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn The successful candidate will have availability to work over weekends. Taking pride in customer service and the overall operation of our fresh market is important to success in the role. Reporting to the second-in-charge & General Manager, daily duties as a shop assistant include:Leading the fresh market teamFulfillment of customer walk-in orders and processing of paymentsProduct inquiries and general customer serviceSet up and/or shut down of marketAssistance with daily stock-take and rotation of stock for FIFO purposesGeneral shop duties where requiredAbout YouIn conjunction with strong characteristic attributes, the successful candidate will have:Ability to lead a team, constantly setting a good exampleSignificant leadership and/or retail industry experienceA genuine passion for customer service; being approachable and confident with customersKnowledge, qualification, and/or application of training in food safety & hygiene standardsAbility to work in a busy environment, and under pressureAbility to work in a team environment with a positive attitudeChampion of a safe working environmentExcellent personal hygiene and presentationStrong work ethicAbout UsLocated at Morningside, our family-owned business is Brisbane's premier seafood wholesaler and retail market.
