Wirraka Maya Health Services Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service designed to ensure our clients' journey through the health system meets their medical, health, social and cultural needs with a vision that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Pilbara have the opportunity to live a health life, with access to culturally appropriate, holistic primary and allied healthcare; social and emotional wellbeing services and education.
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Aboriginal Liaison Officer (Female) to join our team in supporting early childhood, child and family health services within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in ensuring children are healthy and developmentally ready for school.
Your ImpactIn this vital role, you will:
Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure culturally safe and appropriate health servicesBuild strong partnerships with key stakeholders including the Department of Education and community servicesAct as a crucial link between healthcare providers and the communitySupport families in accessing maternal and child health servicesAdvocate for clients and help resolve their concernsPromote community awareness of available health servicesAssist with coordinating appointments and home visitsKey Focus AreasChild Health Services support (including immunizations, health checks, and developmental services)Maternal Health Services support (including antenatal and postnatal care)Community engagement and advocacyCultural safety and appropriatenessEarly childhood interventions and strategiesWhy Join Us?This role offers the opportunity to:
