The Senior Policy Advisor, Workforce Systems, undertakes policy evaluation and program management for departmental workforce training and development initiatives, with a focus on policies, processes, resources and systems that facilitate and support best practice in student placements and the learner environment.
Working on a range of initiatives that support development of a sustainable high-quality future health workforce, the successful applicant will have demonstrated expertise in policy research, evaluation and development, data analytics, data presentation and the capacity to work effectively across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

How you'll make a difference: Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate: Knowledge and Skills Policy Skills - Formulates and communicates public policy options and recommendations; keeps up-to-date with a broad range of contemporary issues; scans for links and potential implications of proposed policy options; liaises with stakeholders.
Systems Thinking - Identifies and understands the long-term impact of courses of action on the organisation's objectives; Understands how various processes within an organisation integrate; Recognises components of a system and their interconnections.
Problem Solving - Seeks all relevant information for problem-solving; liaises with stakeholders; analyses issues from different perspectives and draws sound inferences from information available; identifies and proposes workable solutions to problems; implements solutions, evaluates effectiveness and adjusts actions as required.
Personal Qualities Conceptual and Analytical Ability - Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably; uses analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems, has creative ideas and can project how these can link to innovations.
Detail Focus - Observes fine detail; Identifies gaps in information' looks for logical sequences of information' Highlights practical considerations of plans and activities.
Relationship Building - Establishes and maintains relationships with people at all levels; promotes harmony and consensus through diplomatic handling of disagreements; forges useful partnerships with people across business areas, functions and organisations; builds trust through consistent actions, values and communication; minimises surprises.
Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Qualifications - A tertiary qualification in fields related to health administration, public policy or a healthcare field would be desirable.
Specialist Expertise - An understanding of clinical education policy in Victoria, including the systems, stakeholders and business processes in relation to student placements in health and human services is desirable, but not required.
Demonstrated experience in project administration and stakeholder management.
