Risk Lead

21st November, 2024 We are working with one of Sydney's largest Councils who is looking for a risk professional to join the team as a Risk and Insurance Manager.
This opportunity will have you develop the risk frameworks and provide business growth from the ground-up.
With a collaborative and skilled team plus the support of the board & senior management, this is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step up in their career and have ownership and the drive to execute their strategy.
Based in Sydney's Inner West, your key accountabilities are:
Coordinate and develop key risk management strategies as well as the Business Continuity ProgramConduct all relevant audits as requiredBe responsible for processing external liability claims, supporting the preparation of annual insurance policies, and working closely with the insurer to analyse and improve our risk management processesInvestigate accidents/incidents/near missesMaintain and uplift the risk management frameworksPartner and liaise with relevant stakeholders on risk procedures and recommendationsThe ideal candidate will possess: Risk experience working within Council or State Government is a MUSTStrong stakeholder management and business partnering experienceAbility to lead and manage a small teamSound knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks – insurance practices, protocols and claims managementThis role has ownership and visibility.
It will allow you to make your mark and demonstrate your skill set in helping build out the risk frameworks while working collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
With a hybrid work model, this role is both strategy & execution.
