Mining - Engineering & Maintenance (Mining, Resources & Energy) Full time New Porgera Limited (NPL) is a company incorporated in Papua New Guinea, operating the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province on behalf of the Porgera Joint Venture partners.
The Porgera Gold Mine employs over 2,500 Papua New Guineans and has contributed approximately 10% of Papua New Guinea's total annual exports over the life of the mine.

Underground – Superintendent - Barrick Gold - Porgera We seek to recruit an experienced Underground Mining Superintendent responsible for the achievement of the underground production mining activities short and medium term mine plan, by applying and monitoring production systems.
Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure integrated activity and communication between all functions within and supporting underground mining activities.Ensure delivery of all UG activities as per operating/capital budget.Ensure underground development/production and associated activities are kept on track with the 13-week plan.Develop the 2-weekly plan for underground operations in conjunction with Supervisors/Mine Engineering/Geology.Collect and analyse information to assess performance statistics, statutory requirements, systems efficiencies and business improvement initiatives.Assist the Underground Manager with improvement-related project tasks, change management initiatives, and other projects to improve the efficiency of the underground operation.Coordinate with the Underground Mechanical Superintendent on equipment availability and priorities.Ensure the regular review of mining processes and investigate, assess and where appropriate, trial new methods or technology.Develop and monitor targets for improvement in production performance, equipment utilisation, operating costs and other measures.Coordinate and manage projects within the area of accountability, to achieve completion to agreed quality, budget and schedule.Assist in the preparation of AFE's for any capital projects within the area of accountability.Manage the safety, personnel, equipment and materials involved in such project execution.Regularly report to the Underground Manager and customers on project progress against targets.To be suitable for this role, you will possess the following: Qualifications in underground metalliferous mining.Minimum of 10 years' experience in underground production in a mechanised metalliferous underground mine, including several years in leadership roles.Up-to-date knowledge of underground mining technology and heavy production equipment.Ventilation and ground support knowledge.Written and verbal communication, leadership, and technical skills.Self-motivated, demonstrating good operational judgment.Ability to react well to changing and difficult conditions.Decisive and results-oriented.Able to obtain Blasting Certificate.Demonstrated ability to work productively and safely.Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness.Why Barrick Gold: Pioneering Opportunity: You will be based at the Porgera site.
