Trust for Nature is a not-for-profit Conservation organisation that works to protect native plants and wildlife in cooperation with private landholders. Created in 1972 under the Victorian Conservation Trust Act 1972 (Vic), Trust for Nature has a proud history of working across the government, not-for-profit and private sectors to achieve permanent protection of important conservation land across Victoria.

About the roleTrust for Nature is seeking an experienced and driven Area Manager to join our Senior Management Team. Reporting to the Director of Regional Delivery, you will play a crucial role in delivering important conservation initiatives in the North East areas of Victoria, including throughout the North East and Goulburn Broken catchments.
In this key leadership position, you will lead and support a team that delivers Trust for Nature's conservation programs and projects. You will also focus on cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing funding partners, leveraging opportunities to secure funding and drive the expansion of our state-wide conservation goals.
This role offers a full-time base salary range of $110,000 p.a., plus superannuation.
This is an ongoing full-time position, open to part-time (minimum 4 days) with work-from-home arrangements. The role is based in Wangaratta and requires travel throughout Victoria, therefore a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle are required.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support a team in delivering conservation programs and projects.Cultivate and maintain relationships with funding partners.Secure funding and drive the expansion of conservation goals.Manage projects including scoping, grant writing, negotiation, planning, implementation, delivery, and evaluation.Engage with stakeholders at all levels.Oversee financial and resource management principles and track budgets.Develop and implement strategic projects aligned with core business.Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Lead a team in accordance with OHS systems.Minimum RequirementsA degree in environmental science, natural resource management, or equivalent experience.10 years+ of experience in the environmental sector with a strong understanding of conservation principles.Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing teams.IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce, and GIS Software.How to applyPlease submit a cover letter addressing your skills and interest in the role along with your resume via our jobs board (SWAG).
