This is an exciting opportunity to join the Office of the Information Commissioner in the newly established senior leadership position of Director, Information, Education and Engagement.
As Director, Information, Education and Engagement, you will play a critical role in leading the strategic development and delivery of information, stakeholder engagement and education strategies and lead two teams dedicated to coordinating and delivering targeted and effective information, education, and stakeholder engagement activities.
This is a temporary, full-time opportunity for an initial 12 month period with the possibility of extension, in an organisation that embraces flexible work arrangements, provides a supportive and collegiate work environment, and has one of the highest employee engagement scores in the Queensland public sector.

About The OIC
The OIC is an independent statutory body led by the Information Commissioner (IC).
The IC is assisted in carrying out their functions under the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act) by the Privacy Commissioner, Right to Information Commissioner and OIC staff.
The OIC promotes and protects the right of Queenslanders' to access government-held information and ensure their personal information is lawfully collected, held and used by Queensland government agencies.
A key focus of our work involves providing guidance and information to agencies and the public to raise awareness and understanding of information access and privacy rights and responsibilities under the RTI and IP Acts.
This includes proactively engaging with Queensland government agencies and providing training and education to build capability within the public sector and promote best practice.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role
Develop and deliver annual plans for effective information, education, and stakeholder engagement programs to raise awareness and understanding of information access and privacy rights and responsibilities under the RTI and IP Acts.
Provide proactive advice and support to the Commissioners and Executive Leadership Team on effective strategies to advance their information, education, and stakeholder engagement functions under the RTI and IP Acts.
Work collaboratively with OIC staff members to create and deliver innovative and impactful online, virtual, and in-person education and training materials for Queensland public sector agencies and the public.
Implement innovative and contemporary approaches to information and education delivery, optimising the impact and cost-effectiveness of OIC's operations.
Foster professional development within your teams to meet OIC's current and future needs, ensuring high performance, continuous improvement and evolving skills capability.
Support the achievement of OIC's Service Delivery Statement measures and strategic objectives, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement across Queensland public sector agencies.
