About the Role
This is a five year fixed term SES 1 position
The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to take on the role of Director, State Planning Services .
This is your opportunity to influence state-wide planning outcomes and drive excellence in statutory planning services within the Planning and Land Services Group.
With a focus on delivering quality statutory planning, you will oversee the assessment and approval of planning scheme amendments, administer key programs like the Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution Program, and support other stakeholders in achieving timely, high-quality planning outcomes.
As a member of the State Planning leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Victoria's future planning systems, policies, and projects.
You will lead by fostering a high-performing, customer-focused culture, inspiring your team to embrace innovation and deliver exceptional results.
This role requires forging strong partnerships across government, industry, and communities to achieve a liveable, inclusive, and sustainable Victoria.

Position Outcomes
As a leader in planning and delivery, you will drive and oversee the implementation of planning scheme amendments within the division, ensuring high-quality and timely statutory planning outcomes.
Collaborating closely with senior leadership, you will contribute to advancing statutory planning systems and delivering key departmental goals.
Your leadership will inspire a culture of positive change, fostering a high-performing, capable, and engaged workforce.

Qualifications and Role Specific Requirements
Demonstrated record of achievement in driving responsive and high-quality planning processes and outcomes, and experience in planning scheme amendments.
Demonstrated record of achievement in driving responsive and high-quality customer and stakeholder services and building effective and cohesive planning teams.
Demonstrated experience in a relevant capacity in the public sector (including local government) leading large teams in complex environments.
Demonstrated experience leading support and advice to diverse stakeholders.
A relevant tertiary qualification in urban planning or related field.
