You could be one of our 2900 committed team members who are up to the challenge.About the roleReporting to the Quality & Improvement Senior Engineer, the Infrastructure Quality Inspector role is crucial for ensuring compliance with V/Line policies and procedures across various infrastructure maintenance activities.
You are integral to the success of V/Line's Network Development and Asset Maintenance Group.
This role is integral to improving the effectiveness of controls, processes, and the quality of V/Line's products, services, and asset information, ensuring alignment with business needs and stakeholder expectations.
If you need more details or have specific questions, feel free to askHere's a summary of the key aspects:Promote Positive Cultural Change: Align with V/Line goals by guiding and mentoring employees, identifying improvement opportunities, and minimising uncertainty around asset information and condition.Focus Areas: Conduct independent 2nd line of assurance inspections on Routine Maintenance (RM) and Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) activities, focussing on compliance to signals and communications infrastructure requirements.Key Responsibilities Inspection Activities: Conduct inspections on various maintenance programs, regions, and shifts.Mentorship: Guide management, supervisors, and staff to improve maintenance processes.Reporting: Develop timely inspection reports and maintain independence/impartiality.Collaboration: Engage process owners on opportunitiesfor improvement, collaboratively focusing on root cause identification and elimination.Audit Participation: Support and participate in third-party and external audits or inspections.Supplier Management: Assist in supplier quality management and support supplier audits to improve processes.
About youYou are a patient and adaptable professional with strong interpersonal skills, proficient in using technology like Microsoft Power Apps and iPads.
Your exceptional communication skills and experience interfacing with a broad range of stakeholders make you an ideal candidate for this role.
You ask questions to understand the "why" behind processes, always aiming to understand your audience to demonstrate compliance.Our ideal candidate will possess the following: Certificate IV in Railway Signalling or equivalent competency EssentialMinimum 10 years' experience in railway signals & communications maintenance or similar rail infrastructure discipline.Ability to build and maintain relationships, have attention to detail, improve processes, and collaboratively come up with solutionsTrack Safety awareness, ISO9001 Auditor qualification, root-cause analysis, strong problem-solving abilities, process improvement strategy, leadership or supervisor experienceValid Victorian Drivers LicenceAbility to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.Creative thinker who remains calm under pressure.Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
