This role oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of projects related to the Universal Design and Inclusion Action Plans, including leading the Neurodiversity Project.
The Manager provides strategic guidance to senior leadership and various University divisions, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and external frameworks while managing complex organizational structures.A key aspect of the role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver education, training, and awareness programs that promote cultural inclusion, neurodiversity, and disability inclusion.
The Manager is responsible for managing a range of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget, and supervising casual and student staff within the Prevention and Inclusion Team.
They also monitor trends in sector research and practices, using evidence-based approaches to foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive university environment.Additionally, the Manager provides high-level advice to senior leaders on inclusive practices, engages in cross-team communications efforts, and contributes to the University's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) framework.
They play a crucial role in advancing social change, ensuring that people with disability and neurodiversity are consulted, and their needs are addressed through co-design initiatives and feedback mechanisms.
This position is integral to creating an inclusive campus culture and supporting the diverse needs of students and staff.Skills and ExperienceTo be considered for this position, you will have:A post-graduate degree in public health, social sciences, international development or other relevant degree with substantial extension of the theories and principles, learned through experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.An advanced theoretical understanding of interpersonal, cultural, structural, and institutional inequity in the context of neurodiversity and/or disability.Extensive and contemporary knowledge of community development, health promotion and public health frameworks and theory including understanding of intersectionality, and experience working on intersectionally informed projects spanning various areas of diversity and inclusion.Demonstrated extensive experience in intersectional strategy, project and program design, implementation and evaluation using project cycle and theory of change methodology.Up to date knowledge and experience applying social determinants of health / social models of disability.How to applyClosing date: By 11:55pm on Sunday, 26 January 2025Only candidates with Full Working Rights in Australia may apply for this position.Please submit an online application ONLY and include the following documents:Cover letter briefly responding to the criteria located in the Position Description;An up to date resumeAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ApplicantsWe welcome and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.La Trobe University is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
